Yle, the Finnish Broadcasting Company, visited the Archipelago Sea and made two stories about Pilot Fish for its “Puoli seitsemän” programme. In part one, shown on December 7, the journalist goes on a fishing trip and discusses the differences between Pilot Fish and selective fishing with Marjukka Porvari (John Nurminen Foundation) and Hannu Lehtonen (fisherman of Pilot Fish). Part two, broadcast on December 8, is filmed in a fish processing plant.

The stories are available in Yle Areena in Finnish.

  • Part 1 (time 21:00 – 25:07)
  • Part 2 (time 22:10 – 24:47)

Please note that the fishing period 2016 of Pilot Fish ended already earlier in the summer. Therefore, the fish trap visited in the Yle programme is not included in our project and the catch shown does not follow the preconditions set by the project but only demonstrates fishing in the archipelago in general.
