Policy instruments for blue mussels – How should they be designed to maximize the environmental benefits?
Harvesting of blue mussels are suggested as a means for reducing eutrophication of coastal waters. How should policy instruments for mussel cultivation and harvesting be designed to maximize the environmental benefits per Euro spent? What ways are there to promote high participation among mussel farmers, and increased demand for the final products?
